Cyclorama
A cyclorama is a large-scale scenic device, designed to create the illusion of infinite space or an unbroken horizon, with no visible corners or seams. The Cyclorama de Jérusalem, in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, is a rare and heritage-listed example of this art form, depicting the Crucifixion of Jesus on a canvas 14 metres high and 110 metres in circumference, shown in its original rotunda since 1895. Even if you're not into the Catholic religion, this work is worth admiring. It does, after all, depict all of Jerusalem. The guided visit is also very interesting, since you learn the whole story of how it was put in place at the time.
Musée du cuivre
The Musée du cuivre is the Boutique et Musée Cuivres d'Art Albert Gilles, in Château-Richer, near Quebec City. There you'll discover unique works in copper, notably the « Christorama », and you can even take part in copper repoussé workshops. A fine experience, with the chance to contemplate works of great quality and the opportunity to learn about the art and history of repoussé copper. The technique is used to create decorative works of art, jewellery, wall plaques, useful objects such as utensils and even architectural elements, making the most of copper's great malleability.
