Le Kuklos

Unique in French-speaking Switzerland, Le Kuklos is a revolving restaurant perched atop La Berneuse, offering a 360-degree panorama that rolls past in 1 hour 30 minutes and takes in the Alps, Lake Geneva, the Vaud Riviera, the Jura range and the Rhône valley. The name Kuklos comes from Greek and means "revolving"; the restaurant makes one full turn in an hour and a half, which makes it the only place where you can admire both the north face of the Eiger and Mont Blanc from your table. A pioneer of ecotourism, the Kuklos is also the starting point of the renewable energy trail, its solar thermal panels helping to power the rotation system. Reached by gondola from the village of Leysin, open in summer and in winter.
