Crowned "best new restaurant in Canada" by EnRoute magazine in 2017 and awarded a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide in 2025, Battuto is an intimate 24-seat restaurant tucked into the Saint-Roch neighbourhood. Behind the project are three friends driven by their passion — Guillaume St-Pierre, Paul Croteau and Pascal Bussières — who opened together in December 2016 with no idea of the honours that would follow. Everything is made in house, from the charcuterie to the pasta by way of the bread and the ice cream. The wine list, pared down but thought through, mixes little-known labels with prestigious names, with a preference for Italy and France. Reservations — opened once a month — are gone within minutes. An institution of the lower town.
